Hello, Kitsap and Pierce County, I am LaMont! I am a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Nutrition Coach, and Youth Exercise Specialist. I am a huge community/mentor advocate, and fitness enthusiast.
A little about me, I am an Active Duty service member in the United States Navy; I have been active duty since January 27th, 2010 – I am approaching retirement! My rate (job) in the Navy is Hospital Corpsman – a medic; I also have a specialty as a Radiology Technologist. With over 20 years of medical background combined in both, military and civilian sectors, most of my life has been centered around the medical and health/wellness fields. During my time in active duty service, I developed a strong passion for helping people achieve their fitness and nutrition goals. More than just achieving an aesthetic physique, being able to train people to help them find their purpose, help them learn how to embrace their own process while appreciating their progress, brings me fulfillment. I have witnessed many veterans and active duty service members experience challenges with maintaining their health and wellness. Witnessing many of my brothers and sisters-in-arms, family members, members within my community struggle with their health and wellness encouraged me to pursue earning my personal training certification. Earning my personal training certification provided me with an avenue to give back to my community and to the world.
During my personal training journey, I have obtained vital leadership, personal training, and program creation experience. Designated as the Command Fitness Leader which included leading and running my command’s fitness program, working as a command’s Health Promotion Coordinator while overseeing a multitude of programs to include Ship-Shape – the Navy’s Basic Weight Management program, tobacco cessation, coordinating many health promotion events and much more, I was able to build a diverse and versatile background. I earned my Associates Degree in Health Science as well as my Bachelors Degree in Nutrition. I have experience as a bodybuilder; for a few years, I competed in the Organization of Competitive Bodies (OCB) as a natural Men’s Physique competitor, winning one show and placing in the Top 3 in all the shows I’ve competed in. With over 10 years of experience within the fitness industry, I have developed the skillset and acumen needed to help others achieve their goals.
My life-long objective – help veterans, retirees establish that confidence to achieve their fitness goals, to help children establish at an early age healthy and sustainable habits to live a life of longevity along with helping the 35–55-year-old demographic realize that their prime years are just beginning.
